My stuff from EarthLCD should be in the mail. I'll let you know in a week or so. I'm actually using the built-in controller
on my SBC, so I only had to get a cable
    and backlight inverter.

this screen is found in the following laptops:

Compaq CONTURA 410CX and LITE 4/40CX. They are also in the SHARP 8650 II, SHARP 8700, TI TRAVELMATE 4000E/M (TFT), TOSHIBA 1950/1960CT, and TOSHIBA 2400CT.

I just got a Contrua 410CX for $20 (lcd, inverter, and plastic case with hunges..and some other 486 crap)

They are pin compatible with the LQ9D021/23/24 LCD's

i placed a bid on one of the $49 no reserve ones, (link in first post) which a few have, although no one has confirmed hopefully it will work with allens controller.

geez would it really cost $35us to ship a lcd and touchscreen controller from us to austalia.

allen shipped his controller board to me for $12.50us although havent recieved it yet this guy seems to be adding to his ebay winnings through shipping costs.

although i suppose nuthin i can do, should have checked before bidding

edit: and he wants another 4% if i pay using paypal :/

I bought one of those LCD's a few months ago for $42 USD. I bought it originally for the touch part as I already have a 8.4" LCD and controller. The controller for the touch overlay was included but no cable. I E-mailed Microtouch and they sent me the cable free (express right to Canada). There were no VGA adapter cards at the time but he was in the process of finding some because he had alot of LCD's.

I have been running into limitations on my current LCD setup so I have just received a controller from Allen. In the posts from the Christmas sale he had, the LQ9D161 was listed so it should work. I will be testing it in the next couple of weeks.
