There were no VGA adapter cards at the time but he was in the process of finding some because he had alot of LCD's.

I have been running into limitations on my current LCD setup so I have just received a controller from Allen. In the posts from the Christmas sale he had, the LQ9D161 was listed so it should work. I will be testing it in the next couple of weeks.</STRONG>

did yours come with an inverter? and if not is it possible to get these working without one, or does anyone know where i can get one, perhaps with a brighter backlight?

yeah i got the whole shebang... the EL is on the right of the display...kinda wierd. to get a cheap inverter look for a compaq contura 410cx with a damaged screen or something cheap... rip it apart and there you go... thats what i did.

Do you have the pinout for this screen? looks like it only has 3R, 3B, and 3G ??

Meatballman: Is that SBC a PCM-5862? Did you get the screen working with the LCD controller built into that SBC?

Edit: My apologies, just saw your post above. Where did you get the cable to connect the LCD to the SBC?

Yes, It is a PCM-5862. I ordered the cables and backlight inverter from EarthLCD. I probably paid more than I should have. They charged me $80 for the whole lot. From there it was plug and play. The display is a LQ9D161 w/ touchscreen. While browsing the the SBC section of the EarthLCD site, I noticed that the pinout for the LQ9D161 and the LQ9D03B is identical. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the two screens is the the LQ9D161 runs off 3.3V and the LQ9D03B runs off 5V. So I just told them that I wanted KIT-D03B-SBC without the LCD.

Also wanted to note that there is definite color banding on any gradient because it is only 12 bit, but I'm still pleased with it. most video is still watchable. This will be used 90% of the time for GPS anyway, as my Empeg will be dishing out the MP3's, and I probably won't watch movies in my car.
