    Hi everybody,

I just ordered one of these screens and installed it. I have the power running to it from my M2-ATX power supply inside the computer, but I'm having a problem.

The button led's come on for about 2 seconds and then shut off. The clock is on, but not backlit and the screen will not open or do anything. Every once in a while the button led's will blink on and off every other second as well.

I'm pretty sure that everything is wired in correctly. Does anybody have any idea what this could be?

I ordered this on ebay from some guy in Hong Kong, so hopefully it's not a faulty unit, because I'm sure the return or exchange will be a hassel.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I figured out the problem. The screws that came with it were too long and were holding the screen in place, keeping it from moving. Loosening them did the trick.

True that! Actually it's only because I'm running things off my laptop until I can complete my car PC build.

If anyone who knows a bit more than me can take a look at that voltage regulator a few posts back, and maybe post your opinion I would be forever grateful!

hey, since i'm finally going to get this thing installed. Can i assume all the people that hae had problems with this unit (exactly the same as posted in page 24) is that they used the car 12v instead of a regulated 12v?

Currently unit has worke fine on a ATX PSU was going to hook it up to my cars 12v but sounds like i should connect it to a molex and to my m2-atx. The M2-ATX is fine to power this right?

    hi
i have the same monitor and i hate this piece of **** !!

I think it's the same problem like the most people here have.
When I start my CarPC the monitor only shows for 1 second the vga signal and then turns to black. When I press the VGA Button on the remote control the same thing happens and i can see the vga signal again for 1 second.
It's also the same with the analog video input. Only a screen for 1 second.

I have a M2ATX PSU ,it's a computer power supply for the car. So I have exactly 12 V. So it should work . But it won't

The strange thing is that sometimes I get this montor to work, when I completly disconnect VGA and USB and restart it several times and put the VGA after that again to the monitor. When it then works , it will be so for the next hours . On the next day it's the same **** again.
I don't know where exactly the problem is. It could be something with a bad Ground or USB or perhaps it has somehting to do with the settings you can apply in the menue of the tft. But it's defenitly not a problem from the PC. Because with my laptop , DOS mode , several different resolutions, etc it won't work.
That was the last time I bought these chinese ****. A cheap monitor that won't run. Great.

I guess we all had to learn the hard way. Let this be a warning to the rest of you being lured by the cheap prices!!!!!!!
Oh why do I spend so much time and money on a technology that works only half the time? Is always a work in progress? Is never complete? I wonder.

sorry to drag up an old thread but i need some advice. I have been offered one of these screens fairly cheaply (working order) and was wondering if it's worth the risk? i have an m1-atx supply that i would like to use(should hopefully be enough to power both car pc and unit) but need to know how to set this up (what wires to what) and will the voltage travel the length of my car (pc in boot, unit up front). Thanks!

Well my screen is working fine, the display is as good as always, I drive the car a lot (it's my work car) and have a problem with the gears sometimes slipping when the screen is going from 85->90 degrees. I just give the screen a bit of a touch as it opens to help it and then there's no problem.

I have the screen running on car power right now, the only reason I can think of to run it from the m1 would be so that the screen is always open, right there in front of you without pressing any buttons. To do that you would have to bypass the screen's open-close button so that it opens automatically at power-on. That way your screen would pop-open not just light up when the car PC boots.

In addition to the car PC I also have a DVD/MP3 player in-dash so having the LCD screen running from another power supply would not make any sense for me. In fact with iGuidance and Streets/Trips on my pocket PC/phone, I only use the car PC for the vehicle link to monitor the car with a virtual dashboard, data log, road dyno, or flash the ECU/change settings like idle and knock correction.

    Funny how times change!

If it's REALLLLLL Cheap, then maybe. I had one, it was the worst thing ever. Spend the little extra, get a Xenarc or Lilliput. I got the Xenarc, it's been two years with not problem...
