can a touchscreen be installed upside-down?

Obviously is can be, but I need to know if, when I use software to rotate the screen 180" Will the touchscreen aspect also be rotated, or will touching the top left act as a click at the bottom right?

I asked this a long long time ago but no one could give me a definite answer...

I would think that If you leave the touchscreen overlay on the monitor the two parts would move in sync. If you performed a calibration after the flip, I think that a it would touch where you want it to everytime. the important parts are performing the calibration and leaving the overlay in the same position

The touchscreen doesn't "know" which way up the display is, it just knows where you have touched it.

run the calibration tool once you have flipped the display image.

Well, I haven't bought the screen yet, and I need to know the answer to the question so I can know what my options are... Anyone want to try and calibrate their screen flipped 180" and tell me if that works?

It will work, thats what the calibration does. Sets up the orientation.

i would assume so, but id rather not spend the $500 and take the chance that the designers were too lazy to allow the calibration to be rotated 180 degrees...

want to try calibrating your screen 180 degrees for me?

There's software you can get to do it. Most on-board intel graphics drivers have this ability, and so do most nvidia and ati drivers.

Flipped mine too for a couple of months. egalax TS controller worked fine after calibration. Via has an option in their advanced display configuration screen to rotate the display 90 or 180 deg. I'm pretty sure ati drivers have the ability to rotate the display. others probably do to.
