    Post lcd +5V and ground

i have bought a 2*40 lcd w/o backlite and now i will wire it and got a few questions.

this is the scheme someone suggested for me.

Do i have to connect the +5V with ground or what?

The LCD needs ground and +5v. With mine and it should be the same, I connected ground for the LCD to the Computer chassis and +5v was taken from pin 9 of the joy/midi plug on the sound card.

You dont need to worry about the backlight +5v & ground. Leave the pins un-connected.
