Yes, whoever got it working, please post some specs. I have an M10K board and tried the BIOS yesterday. After downloading the BIOS I still did not see 800x480 as an option in the BIOS setup.

Incidently, how do you guys handle updating the BIOS? Do you have to take your system apart to plug a floppy drive in like I do or are you guys smarter than that? : )

    make a bootable cd rom

BTW you change the setting in windows not the bios. The new bios makes it capable for the different modes to be used by the driver.

Go to your advanced display properties and click the button "list all modes" and then you should see the new resolutions... please post if you have other refresh rates other than 60hz

Yes, I tried that to no success. I just see the 800x600 and 640x480 resolutions. I only see these two (and not the 1024x768) options because I have 800x600 set in the BIOS as the display size. I tried 1024x768 in the BIOS also but nothing changed as far as available resolutions go inside Windows XP. During lunch, I loaded the latest display drivers from viaembedded, just to make sure I had them installed, and still no go.

Incidently, I only see 60 Hz and Default refresh available, for all resolutions. Reading the posts here, I get the impression I should see something else as well. Any ideas here?

I'm not sure why 800x480 isn't working on my system. It seems like it should. Very strange.

when you say that it is not working you need to be more specific.

DO you have an option for 800x480?

What happens when you select it?

Sorry about that. No, I do not have an option for 800x480. I don't have an option in the BIOS and I don't have an option in Windows XP. I flashed the BIOS twice, just to make sure it took and I didn't miss some error message.

Yep, I did check List All Modes and I don't see 800x480.

I had the same issue when testing 1.16 and the latest video drivers, never even saw it listed. I am using an M10000 and a DWW-700M, does it limit the choices depending on the monitor selection maybe?

It definitely limits the choices based on the monitor selected. I have the LCD display selected and the resolutions available depend on what I have selected in the BIOS.

For instance, when I have 1024x768 selected in the BIOS, I can see 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 resolutions under List All Modes. If I change to 800x600 in the BIOS, then I can only see 640x480 and 800x600 under List All Modes.

I would think the new 1.17 BIOS would allow me to select 800x480 in the BIOS setup, but it does not list this as an option.

I'm pretty sure that 1.16 will *not* work with 800x480, but according to the previous post in this thread, the new 1.17 beta should work. Even some posters here said they have gotten it to work. I'm just not sure why I can't see it as an option on mine.

I am one who got the modified bios to output 800x480. I never tried this one becasue now i have an insight p4-itx board. However my old setup (m10k) going in the GF car.

Change you bios settings to crt+lcd at 1024x768. Thats what i had it on. And in windows for the monitor select default monitor.

Can anyone who has this working please tell us if there are other refresh rates for the 800x480
