Wouldn't you just use a 1 din HU mounting kit for your model car? This was what I was planning to try.

    619 to be installed

Talked to Armen and the 629 can't be installed in the IH002 housing, as of yet. He is going to go ahead and install a 619 for me. He said the standoffs for VGA controller don't lineup and he also had a problem with the location of the inverter. I suggested he check with the manufacture of the IH002, to see if they could make the standoffs for the VGA controller movable. If the standoffs were movable then it could work for the 619 and the 629. Then he only has the inverter to figure out. Armen is a very resourceful person and I'm sure he'll make it happen.

Anyone try installing lilli in IH002 themselves/

Personally, I have done this, with some success. So far, I've blown a fuse (more on order) and shredded a ribbon cable (again, more on order). Just curious if anyone else has done this. My problem seems to be getting all of the wires (ribbon for vga, touch, inverter) to go where they are supposed to when opening and closing the screen. If anyone has ideas, that'd be cool.

    Hi All,

Here's are some of the E-mail between Armen and meself, about the 629 lilliput and IH002. Armen, thanks for your help and keep us posted on your progess.

    Hi Mike

I was looking at the install today and have a few problems that are hard
to overcome. The monitors (619 and 629) are the same for the exception
of the shape of the VGA controller. Indash housing has stand offs that
are in the correct places and match up with the 619 controller. The
stand offs don't work with the 629 controller so I would have to come up
with another way of mounting it. Another issue is with an inverter. In
this indash install I usually install another inverter and connect it to
the VGA controller. This allows me to place the inverter very close to
the LCD panel in order to have full brightness. Now that the layout is
different I don't know how to connect the new inverter.

However, there is a solution. I can install a 619 monitor for you and
take your monitor and sell it. The cost will remain the same for you
$180 + $50 install. This way I can build one quick and ship it back to
    you tomorrow.

    Let me know.
    Thanks,
    Armen

    Hello Armen,

Lets do the 619 install. As an after thought, would you be able
to have the manufacture make the standoffs for the VGA controller board
movable, position A could be for 619 and position B for 629? Then you
would just have the inverter location to work out. Talk to you later.

    Regards
    Mike

    Hi Mike

I will start the install right now.

I will talk with the manufacturer of the housing to see what can be
done. I have been getting quite a few requests about installs with this
    monitor.

I will let you know when I am done.

Can you email me your address so that I have it for shipping.

    Thanks,
    Armen

    Front mounted USB ports!

The new IH002 housing I received has two front mounted USB ports, very cool! Now I don't have to worry about making USB ports available.
