Now that's strange...

The VGA/TS cables carry no power (or at least not enough to power the screen itself ), so it's gotta be coming in from the cable, since you can power it from there if you use the black power plug that it comes with, so the pins obviously have to be there (and in the connector on the board). Having looked at that damn picture all weekend long from digitalww's site (http://www.digitalww.com/Lilliput_to...ideo_diag.jpg), I can see how a short inside the cable itself is more likely, but I don't know if that connection on top of video 2 is for power... could short out easily if that is since the solder points are so close, I guess.

Further more, the screen's take 12v and USB is 5v....

Weird...

Correct. The "real" USB connection is in the main cable, and it splits to the controller inside the casing. The rca cable that goes to the "pseudo-usb" connector does carry the 12v if you use the AC adapter. A short there could (and obviously does, in this case) power the screen.

Wait... if you have 12V going into the side connector from the PSU, then you're supplying power to the unit, and there's no short... that's the way it's supposed to work.
