Thread: someone tell me what controller could help me out with this LCD

I have got the same lcd and am also looking for an inverter and controller. Let me know if this one works, I too am looking like mad to find something that will.

I decided not to go with the Sharp monitor and am gonna go with a NEC NL8060BC29-01 monitor and I'm trying to find a controller and backlight for it. If anybody can help please do so!

I have thesame LCD, and I also got it from Ebay, to get the controller and inverter just call AL Gurin at Flat-Panel he will make one for you.
I can't seem to find his number anywhere, I'm pretty sure their web site has it. www.flat-panel.com

hey how much did you pay for both? cuz it seems liek the cookie cutter version on their web page is $200 -- way too much.

so i havent doen much lcd hardware hacking but...

the guy gives you a pinout... the vga pinout will match all those pins, except power, ground, and "data enable"-- probably just close this pin.

so now the only question is, what to do with the MSB data pins right? maybe it is some sort of parity check? maybe this isn't as easy as I think but shouldn't need a $200 controller for something that already has a VGA interface!

(heck for $25 bux i'm willing to twist my own incomplete cable together and see what happens!)

Obviously you don't know too much about this. A LCD screen uses a digital interface. A CRT monitor uses a analog interface. The reason you need a controller is because it'll convert from analog to digital signal.

heh =) you're right. in my excitement at looking at that display, i somehow read VGA as meaning it had an analog vga interface onboard. reading ym post again.. thats about as bad as thinking MSB was a digital parity check on an analog signal =)

oh well, everyone wants a working flat screen for 25 bucks right..? =)
