Hey guys, just thought I might let you know. Data International (www.datainternational.com) has a huge line of really nice hd44780 char lcds. I was just looking for a distributor in the northeast us so i emailed the sales department and the guy offered to send me a free sample! i'll make you guys go to the site and find the sales rep's e-mails yourselfshappy wiring....

The guy just e-mailed me back,
I gave him my address, and my EL backlight preference, and asked for a cable that would plug into the LCD and to the Parrallel port if they have one.
Do EL backlights come in different colors?

I am getting a free sample 4x40 EL backlit LCD, I told them it was for a highschool electronics class to display information from the computer, which is true!
Its displaying pc info and songtitles, and I am going to show it to the Electronics class at school when I finish
