Problem with DWW-700M - Fuzzy image

    Hi,

I finally got my replacement screen this week but I have a problem - it looks like it's another faulty unit, or I'm missing something.

The screen works but the image on screen is fuzzy. The colours are washed out - dark blue looks cyan for example - and the touch screen does not detect.

I've tried two separate power sources within the car, two different input sources (car PC and laptop) and the result is the same every time.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else had this?

Okay here goes. Pics aren't the best 'cos it's sunny.

This is an attempt to show that it's clear with the menus and stuff:

You can just about see the colour differences here:

    Good:

Bad - this shows the colour problem and fuzziness:

The following two are taken with the screen using a mains power supply, so no involvement from the car's power at all:

The same cable was fine on my old screen, only power and VGA are connected. It's looking like I'm incredibly unlucky with these screens

    More developments!

First off, the touchscreen is working - it was my cable that was at fault.

I tried updating BIOS, drivers etc to run at 800x480 'cos I was running 800x600.

Nothing worked, no improvement. Then as I was reaching to turn off the PC I knocked the corner of the open touchscreen - perfect picture! At 800x600.

So I unplugged everything, moved the unit to the front of the car - fuzzy picture. Tried again in the boot - fuzzy again.

Tried gently tapping the screen in various places. Still no joy.

    Any suggestions anyone?

It has to be the vga cable.. NO point on tapping the screen.. Try another vga cable.. The one that come with it is a cheap *** cable, it will pick up interference alontg the way.. Get a cable that is sheilded.

Just tried another cable - decent quality shielded Belkin one and it's the same.

It's looking like another returned screen

How many of you guys have these screens now? And how many have had problems?

I'm in two minds about whether to get another of this model after this.

    I must be unlucky!

I've emailed DigitalWW twice and called and left a telephone message with no response.

Added to the initial five month wait for the sreen followed by a six week wait for a replacement I'm feeling rather p_ssed off at the moment!
