you could just buy the 'standard' lilli, xene screen and mount a hard drive cooler behind it. that's what i did and it works great. doesnt get AS hot and it piggiebacks power...but i live in VA, not really extreme heat.

    Tallman,

There are pros and cons of fixed in-dash TS and an in-dash TS unit, search, it's been discussed. Personally, the thought of ripping apart my dash just to install a screen, that looks OEM, scares me. I just order a motorized in-dash; Iíll have to wait to see if that was the right decision. You can do some things to reduce the amount of heat in your car, like tinting the windows and a sun shield for the wind shield when parking. Good luck with the install.

And if people like you stop spoon feeding, n00bs will learn how to

This has been cover more than a dozen times including a fair explication of how to prevent overheating problems by me. (living in hell-land)

We all seen the "n00bs helping n00bs" but if his no able to do a simple search in this forum how is he going to put together a CarPC.

I dont think it would matter how hot your screen gets. The LCD manufacturer will have temperature specs. Check them out.

A lot of people that run CarPC's live in warm climates but I have not seen a post where hot weather affects the screen. It mostly affects the computer if not cooled properly.

Does you vehicle have air conditioning?
