Is their another solution for this ribbon cable?

I have been searching for a solution to this problem for quite some time. I can't find anyone who is willing to sell or help me find a replacement ribbon cable that goes from the main Lilliput board to the daughter button board. I did this so my screen could fit in my double din slot but so that I would still have use of the buttons. The original cable was about 4 inches long, however I seperated the two boards and I needed about 5-6 feet and I thought I could solder it to some longer wires. However my skills met their match with this small ribbon. I've emailed DigitalWW numerous times and they responded by telling me to tape the cables together, and then one day they just stopped responding to my emails. If anyone has any suggestions about soldering this or where I could find a logner ribbon, please help me out. If anyone would create a solution to this by soldering it themselves I would gladly pay them at least $25. Or if anyone knows about using the Lilliput without the button board please give me some suggestions.

So this is just the cable for the button pcb? Their write-up on the website ( http://www.digitalww.com/VGA_Lillipu...ash_HowTo.html ) gives you a pretty good set of instructions on re-wiring the PCB board...

I don't know if you need ALL the buttons, but if you relocate the IR eye you should be good with no buttons at all (that's what I'm doing now). If you NEED all of them, then as long as you have a good enough tip on the soldering iron you should be able to work it out, it's just gonna take some time...

Make sure you have the right tools for the job. I would suggest that you get small gauge wire (wrapping wire at radio shack), small soldering iron tip, and small (gauge / thin) solder. Then I'd go straight into the PCB. I dunno, YMMV.

I don't have a Lilliput, so I can't give you a part number, but I'm sure you can get a longer ribbon cable at mouser.com or digikey.com.

unsure if this will help you, but I did this over a year ago, but it shows different pin outs that may be better for you to solder too.

I seem to be having an issue with the board for the buttons. It seems to be an older lilliput then the one you all posted for. Here is a shot of the front and back of my board. Does anyone know the soldering points for the different buttons on this kind of lilliput?

The soldering points are on the connector of the daughter board.

Here is what you need to do. Plug everything back in the way that was (the small ribbon cable connected to both boards) and then solder the wire to each side of the PCB. The ribbon cable is straight through so there is no crosses.
