I think you would need a controller as well. I dont think it's the type you just hook it up to your vga card.
Recently I sent an E-Mail to a company here in Canada asking if they would give (or sell cheaply) me a LCD for use in a car mp3 system. They returned an E-Mail with 1 LCD that they are not carrying soon and would let me have it for $250CA (about $165US). The LCD they offered me is a Prime View International Co. Ltd. 6.4" LCD Screen (Digital VGA) model number P64CV1. (website http://www.pvi.com.tw) I was wondering if anybody has every seen or heard about this company or its screens. This seems to be a VERY cheap price for a VGA screen! Anyways, any info would be great! Thank you.
Not too much info on their site (BTW, the link only kinda works).
I'd venture to say that this might be the screen only, no controller. But I get nothing clear from their site.
Still, that is cheap......
Sorry about the link, not sure what went on there. Yeah they told me it was over 1/2 off the regular price. I will E-Mail him back and see if it still needs a controller. Good idea, never thought of that!
Also just noticed that it says it has an "edgelight" So I take it this isn't backlit then?
Edgelight is a kind of backlight. It kind of explains itself. Do not know how well it works because I do not have any experience with LCD panels

Almost all laptops have the backlights on the edges. There are very few screens that have them directly behind the screen.
Thanks for info on the edgelight, I just got a response to my E-Mail and that screen does not have a controller attached to the screen. Too bad too, that was a good price otherwise!
Hmmm, really? How much are controller card usually?
