    Laptop driving me crazy.

    I posted this same thing in the newbie section but I think it belongs here. I have a Dell laptop with s-video out that i'm trying to hook up to my Alpine tv in the car. I get great audio but no video. I made sure that it isn't the Alpine and also ruled out the cables. The problem (i think) is that I don't know how to adjust the display settings the correct way. If anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    make sure your svideo cable is connected. restart your computer. Right click on your desktop then properties. click on setting. Now you will have two monitors in the little window. Click on two and then extend the window or whatever.. Now i think you are trying to make your S-video your primary. I don't think that will work tho.

    I still can't get the desktop on to the tv.

    Have you tried using the keyboard? On most laptops you can switch the video output from the keyboard. On my compaq it's [Fn] + [F4] (which also has a square monitor icon in the key)

    I've always found that I need to enable nView. You can find it by

    rightclick desktop->properties->stettings->advanced

    and dig around

    Check your settings vs the image attached to this post. Do they match?
    If you don't know where this is just right-click the desktop, goto properties, click on the settings tab.
