Yes, on Sunday afternoon I ran pwr+gnd from the Opus up to the dash. No more horizontal interference.Originally Posted by JPuma
I wired in a relay from the IGN wire, so the LCD is only on when the key is in the ignition AND the opus is on. The opus is setup to turn off after 20 min.

what is a POL? power on lead?
Yeah I have the same problem but it's more obvious for me..
I have a JVC GigaMP3 DVD Player and a single DIN 7" panel wired together on the same power and ground. The two are flawless, music and movies are perfect!
When I turn the CarPC on no extra noise comes into the audio or video, but when I switch the DVD player to line in (for the CarPC) I can hear the noise (the difference in power source) and then when I display to the 7" LCD from the CarPC I can see the noise..
So now I need a PS that can handle the JVC, the LCD, and my CarPC!? Plus a ground loop isolation circuit for the amps that are powered from a direct power connection?! Ack! Almost tempted to live with the noise when using the CarPC for nav/email/games.. Almost.![]()
I've been wasting my time with this issue. Should have done this search here long ago. Thanks for the info. I'm nervous about wiring from my pc psu to the xenarc. Is there anything i should be careful of?

Sorry to resurrect this Guy's but I'm having the strobing horizontal lines problem too, despite trying all the fixes in this thread. These lines do disappear at times but return randomly for no reason I can figure out.
I have a LinITX Plus touchscreen and a MiniItx carpc with P4 mobo and M2-ATX PSU. I use a ground loop isolator so no sound interference problems, just video.
I have tried the following:-
8 gauge grounding all round (solved a grounding interference issue, but not the horizontal lines)
Made a common ground for PC & screen ( still lines )
Powered the screen via the M2 ATX ( still lines )
Powered the screen via supplied mains adapter ( still lines )
Set the screen to 75 hertz ( thinner lines !!! )
Re-routed cables ( still lines )
I can't replace the VGA cable because on this screen it's an "all in one" solution, where it joins other cables (T/S, power, RCA inputs etc) in a moulding and bespoke connector. ( ie. one composite cable comes out of the screen)
I guess this is some sort of frequency interference coming down the VGA cable. Can Anyone help me solve this problem![]()

try powering the pc from another power source other then the battery. I dont know what it will prove as a solution but see if it goes away. I still get video noise on the board monitor when I use it instead of the touchscreen. I solved my problem by powering the touchscreen with the PSU powering the computer.
