I don't know why you would need to hack anything. It is just a plain NTSC video monitor, so you could just use the audio/vido inputs.
Does anyone use or have used this unit? I need to find out how to hack it to get the video and audio from my PC to this unit... it seems that the in dash unit I am getting is not the pioneer avx-505 as I previously posted but the Alpine CVA-1000![]()
oh well...I am picking up the unit tonight to check it out and see if everything is in working order

Actually, yes, I used to have one and I know how to hack it. Let me know if you still need the info.

That's NOT just a simple NTSC monitor like the ones you get at partsexpress... do some research before saying anything dumb.I don't know why you would need to hack anything. It is just a plain NTSC video monitor, so you could just use the audio/vido inputs.

Sorry dude, I went to alpine's website and saw their "CVA-1003" and it said it had A/V inputs and I figured the 1000 did to. My bad.
here i found this

Mine was kinda the same but I have a changer so I used a couple of relays to interupt the audio on the changer and get stereo input. BTW just get a 5 volt regulator and use that instead of an adaptor in your cig. I might even still have a hacked plug, I'll look around for it.
