Removeable 6.8" LCD

A few people asked me how I made my screen removeable....this is just a little hack I did using the Hard drive /cd rom molex connector and the stand I had.

I would never want a screen showing from outside..that's like saying "Hello...come n get me"

It's also kinda nice that the LCD and my head unit are the same brushed aluminum =) never expected that.. just a coincidence.

I love it! Been looking for some way to be able to easily hide my LCD. I have the same size LCD, the back is almost identical and I have the same stand. I can see plainly how you got the power to it, but what about the signal cable? My cable comes directly out of the LCD, I guess I could cut the wire and put connectors on each end. Is that what you did? Also how did you get the CPU and PC temps in your Winamp playlist?

Look at the pic again Maverik, there are 4 connections on the HD molex...power (+ and ground) and video (signal and ground).

yeah you can just cut the cable or open up your LCD and solder the wire straight into it. I suggest using the cable. As you can see I didn't mess with the LCD by opening it up like I did with my first one...the 5.6".

THe temperature monitor is a On Screen Display of Motherboard Monitor 5.0. It's free and as long as your mobo has some kind of temp, voltage sensor... you can display anything you want on screen.
It's not actually on the winamp playlist... It works like the IRAssistant OSD.

neat, i have made something semi similar, but i used minijacks two, one for power and one for signal, but it annoys my *** of that they poke out from the screen, i guess ill start thinking about converting my setup, to use ordinary power connectors ...
