what you want to do is actually quite easy as the panel is the same as the one in the Xenarc....Disable/remove the current inverter (you may need the space so get your kacksaw out) and get an inverter for the xenarc from either someone with a broken xenarc or try digitalww or mp3car store. Then you need to find the inverter pinout yo be able to power it separately. and wire it up to the original inverter 12V supply on the PCB. i dont know off hand which pin is which for the inverter i am afraid. But someone will probably know. Getting the right tansformer is going to be hard unless it is labelled.Originally Posted by lanmanager

Thanks Mr. Lemon. Hows your son - lemon julian?
Well, I just got another controller board exactly like the fried board. Only problem is the brightness controlls do nothing and the LCD has very little back light (it is very dim with any amounts of sunlight, but can see the images somewhat clearly at night)
Anyone know which pins on the inverter to test or to jump to increase brightness?
2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 600
AMD Athalon 900mhz / ATI Radeon 8500 video / TV/FM card
7" touch-screen LCD / GPS / DVD Player / Frodoplayer
The 7 pins on the Transformer, does anyone know if they control the brightness of the backlight? Not sure why, but I lost control of the brightness adjustment, and I think I can override by jumping these pins, has anyone done this or can confirm?
Thanks

I think this unit uses pwm for brightnes (changes frequency). You could use an aftermarket inverter.
dont touch those transformer pins. Wont do anything but give you a shock![]()
With my tongue. Hasn't done anything to me. Hasn't done anything to me.
BTW, does that controller get some feedback from the inverter? I hacked mine off used aftermarket inverter and now the VGA signal won't appear. Just comes up - says no signal - then controller goes blank.
Ok, I'm having the same issue now. The brightness and contrast seem to work, but the backlight is maybe 1/10th the brightness it used to be. Anyone know what would cause this? Where can I get a replacement inverter, and how much does it cost? THanks.
