Angry Sheesh, I just want to see two lines of blocks..

Well, since I've rewired this 4x20 L2014 about 10-15 times using the original schematics (http://www.eio.com/lcd2014.htm) and modified schematics (http://www.geocities.com/krebnarb) I give up.

No one seems to know how to fix the lcd...so I'm going to have to assume that the unit is defective. I checked and re-checked the connections to many times to count..ergh.

Did you use lcdprint.exe for testing?
    If not try it

I hate to say it, but you might have fried the thing when you were wiring and rewiring... I've noticed that they are really sensitive to heat on the controller chips.

If you've been really careful to keep it cool, while soldering (if you actually needed to solder on the board), then it could have also been destroyed if you placed the +5v in the wrong terminal.

I killed one of these when Supermatty and a few others were figuring out the wiring scheme. I switched the positive and negative, and the whole thing was gone

    I hope it works out.
