Ok, Ive been away for a while, boozing , getting my learn on and whatnot. While at college , I have run into 2 dilemas. The first is that I no longer have a car. I have no plans to get one in the near future, so bye bye to my car mp3 player . I have found a need for a standalone divx player. I was thinking , that for around $200 , I could build a AMD Duron 900 , and use a tv-out car to play divx on my TV in my room. I would have to purchase an RCA---> COAX converter (RF converter). Does anyone know how DIVX will look after being past through a PCI 8mb TV out card, converter to COAX, and then plugged into a TV?
As good as the TV will display it. By DIVX's very nature it's image quality is superior to your TV's display mode. A TV is 400x320 (if your lucky) while DIVX is usually encoded at 640x480. Even with picture degredation, your not going to notice any diffrence.
what do you suggest I use for a mobo/processor? also , what type of tv out card should I purchase
i regularly watch divx on my tv, im using a 300a @ 500 and tnt2u to play them and it never has any issues.
Tho I'm using scart to get the signal into the tv.
if I get a 8mb card with rca out , and use an RF coax adapter to get it into my ghetto tv, will it still look good
