Here's a peek under that metal housing. "Sumitomo Electric 5010-6980 HC712-1" appears on the board. A quick yahoo search on that part number yields no signifigant info.
First however and before I go any deeper, these two circled areas are worth noting. On the left is the connector for the panel interface. On the right are the two connectors for the lights. With two connectors I can safely assume that there are two backlight tubes. This leads me to believe that the panel may be significantly brighter than a lilliput or xenarc.
I am a little hesitant to pry at the LCD interface connector (the one on the left) as it looks very fragile. If anyone has experience with these types of connectors, advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Lifting the last board has revealed that the LCD panel is made by Toshiba. The part number is LTA080B172A. I'll see what I can find for specs on this panel.
I have found specs for the panel part# LTA080B170A. The part numer is off by a few (170 instead of 172). The specs for the 170 are:
