    SP-716,DWW-700M doesn't power on? HELP

Hi, I got a SP-716,DWW-700M. Connected using PC power supply's 12v and toy around it for 2 hours. Then it no longer powers on, and there is no lights at all. When power is connected, there is a slight buzzing noise and that's it.

I open up the unit to examine and found the following cap to be tear? Juding from the look do you think it is blown? I dont know electronic but what is this thing called and what does it do? Do you think it could be the source of the problem. Interestingly, other similar caps all have label and wording but this one is completed wrapped in black plastic without any label.

    Appericate any help on this.

The part you pointed out is an inductor "L10". You can use an ohm meter or DMM to measure the resistance, with the power off, it should measure around 0 ohms across it. But it sounds like you have a short some where, which could be caused by most likely a shorted cap. I would send it back for a replacement.

I am going to try to get RMA from seller, if not via paypal dispute. If all failed I guess my only option is to try to fix it myself. I power it up again and I can say that the buzzing sound and smell is indeed coming from that inductor. Anyone know the spec of that inductor and where can I buy it from?

I contacted the manufactor "Shenzhen DelongGhuale Electronic" and they are suprising hlepful, even more so then yuki the ebay seller. They told me that there are some problem with the L10 in these unit (not sure if they meant it is a common problem tho).

They also stated that the specification for the inductance is 100UH.

Can someone point me to a place where I can get such part?

I have a dead unit as well - however there are no visibly bad components in my unit. So does "Shenzhen DelongGhuale Electronic" offer any kind of warranty or out of pocket repair service. btw googling Shenzhen DelongGhuale Electronic yields nothing.
