    Post Screen size

Hi, I am thinking of buying a 5" lcd screen, am just curious is this big enough? I know lots of people say bigger is better , but seriously all i want to do is display cobra and maybe some video clips. I actually haven't seen a screen this size in person so am flying blind a bit. I drew up the dimensions and it seemed small just was curious on peoples opinions.

I notice most people have 6.4" or bigger is this due mainly to using gps?

    Thanks

I have a mobile authority 5" screen and I like it. I will agree bigger is better but in my case I didn't have room for too much bigger. Head over to my site to see some pictures of the screen http://mp3z3.puregamer.com I got some with it on and off

I believe it greatly depends on what you want to do with you carputer and your budget. NTSC Video (like home TV) is great if the only thing you plan on doing is MP3's and possibly DVD's. But if you have an intention to do anything more complicated such as GPS (as you pointed out) then you will want to go at least VGA.

VGA units have a tendancy to be substantially more expensive than NTSC due to their increased resolution. Where as NTSC is dropping in price due to it's low cost ot produce.

In general, if you were planing on doing GPS with NTSC I would advise a larger LCD to compensate for the "fuzzyness" of the image. If your going VGA, then 6 1/2" should be more than enough, due to the increased resolution.

To answer your question, if you are using NTSC for MP3 playback only (as I have done in the past) then you should be fine with a 6 1/2" screen. Just make sure you use the "double size" feature on WinAMP.
