you will have to look out for a broken screen (obviously not the bit you need) for sale or contact either digitalww, mp3car store or lilliput in the USA or Uk if you cant get an adress for lilliput USA (i am not sure if the stores int he usa import from the manufacturer or if there is a usa base like there is in the uk)

Didn't realise there was a PCB there as it's under a bit of card. Also noted that one of the little brackets that holds the screen in place rests against that, wondering if I might have pinched something when tightening it up. May investigate more. (when NOT powered up)

Good idea, but yeah there is a small metal bracket that is holding the screen together under that PCB. It could be getting in the way and causing you troubles. But I blew out 3 of those little controller PCB's while messing with the backlight stuff.

I was having trouble with it when it was in the dash, the colours were go all streaky, mainly the Red, so I took it out and replaced with a new one. Put this one back in the new ones case and now all it get is the white screen.

    OK update on this.

    I have two defective Lilliputs.

    2. used to have multicoloured lines for VGA but then went weird (see below), composite works fine (it's a headrest monitor at present.)

    similar to this

I thought I would try and see if I could make a good one.

so I swapped the LCDs around.

(now the white screen issue JCD thought it might be the board on the LCD)

The different faults went with the main boards, not the LCD's.

(so it's not the boards on the LCD's or the LCD's themselves)

I disconnected the cable on the LCD's, so my next trick is going to be to swap the connectors on the board to see if it is the leads.

    To be continued. . . . .

    i thought this was TBC?

I have just broke the ribbon clips too after replacing the TS for an ASUS MiniPC. Touchscreen works mint, but after hitting a few harsh bumps, the TS is now a black screen, which gradually fades to a ghosted and very faded black & white image of my desktop. ****ing crappy little nano clips! Tried glueing but no joy. Will try business cards and or toothpick trick later, then if all else fails I might treat myself to a new transflective panel.

Is the TF lilli still the one to go for, or are the new LED ones any good?

Am I stuck to using lilli's as my bezel is made from the front half of a lilli housing. Or are they interchangeable between manufacturers?

Yeah I gave up on trying to get the lilliputs to work, but I did find out that the LCD panels were fine as I managed to get the controller board from a Linitx 8" screen off DaveMark as he managed to break his LCD and put the lilliput screen with that board and it works fine.

I was also stuck with lilliput bezels for my headrest screens so I ordered a linitx 7" screen and transferred it to the lilliput bezel and it's fine.

So go look at the linitx transreflective or TMR, but bare in mind opeing up any screen will leave you open to te risk of damaging of it.
