I use the Touchpad Configuration tool to calibrate the screen and that works fine for both the 4 point and the 25 point (advanced) calibration tools however shortly after I calibrate the screen it goes out of wack. I touch the screen and it response like a half inch to an inch away. What could be the reason behind this? Is my touchscreen going? If so, is there anyway to fix this?

I checked the past couple of day's posts and while yes there are SIMILAR topics, this one isn't the same as others. I am not having USB issues, I did not do any wiring. If you read my post, the touchscreen works. It has been ever since I got it 1 1/2 years ago. But all of a sudden I am getting this lose of calibration issue where sometimes a press on the screen will be right and sometimes it will be off by an inch or so.Originally Posted by MaleBuffy

So I posted something that someone else may have posted. And YES, I did a search and I didn't find anything exactly the same as my problem.
So next time you read my question on a post, either reply with something intelligent to say or click BACK and go bother someone else with your meaningless rants.
You ever figure this out tmar? I have the same issue. It calibrates perfectly fine and works in RR etc but after a while it is WAAAY off and I have to recalibrate..![]()

It ended up being a dying touch screen. I replaced the touch screen film and it worked fine after that. http://www.digitalww.com/ has reliable ones.
:O Oh noes.. That's not what I wanted to hear..
Weird that it works fine but seems to "forget" the calibration until I recalibrate it..

I had this issue (like I posted above) and it seemed to correct itself shortly thereafter (I didn't do anything to fix it that I know of).. Now, it's happening again over a year later..
Some days the touchscreen will work fine, some days it will work for a few minutes after recalibrating, and some days it will work just after rebooting..
Any ideas? I find it hard to believe that it's a bad touchscreen because I was having the issue and then not having it for over a year..
Thanks

My screen is doing the same thing, except it occurs right after calibration.
I want to say its a software driver malfunction because I ran it under linux and it works perfect but under windows it gets screwy.
Im using the drivers from http://210.64.17.162/web20/eg/drivers.htm and the version 5.0.1.5310 from 2008/07/31 and under linux im using evtouch from the ubuntu repos

Mine does it consistently. Ive taken a volt meter to it. tried taking the lcd apart. The only other factor i could think of is ambient temperature but that should be negligable once the backlight turns on and starts puting out heat one would think
