Bump
Hey guys.. I made a spacer for my Lilliput.. going to do a bare install, meaning that the LCD is out of the factory case.. it won't all fit into my dash.. so anyway, I took the lilli out.. now I have the LCD and the controller board.. well I took some neoprene insulation tape and put it all over the back of the LCD.. so that i could then tape the controller board down to that and not get any shorts.. well that was just temporary and today I made a 1/4" plexi-glass spacer to put in.. used the side bracket screws to hold the plexi down.. and then i used nylon spacers and some metal screws to attach the controller board to the 1/4 plexi.. I then took an 1/8" piece of plexi and attached that above the controller board.. to protect the back side (inverter side) of the board.. I used some nylon spacers on the sides of the 1/4" plexi.. so and some steel screws.. it all came out pretty nice.. however, I needed to lengthen the CCFL wires.. so I took some wire off of a dead CCFL i have.. and cut the lilli's CCFL wires.. Stripped them and then soldered the longer pieces of CCFL wire on.. I used 3 layers of shrink tube over the solder points.. I have about 3" of extra wire now.. However, the dang thing doesn't work now.. I plug it in.. i get nothing on the screen.. nothing at all happens.. green light.. nothing else.. I checked all connections.
I hear an electrical buzzing sound coming from the vicinity of the inverter/CCFL wires.. I thought maybe I pulled one of the pins out of the plastic connector on the board for the CCFL wires.. well I checked that and it seems that if I move them around somewhat.. push them in etc, the buzzing will stop.. however still no screen.. any suggestions? Did I do something wrong when I soldered the wires together? I used a 40w soldering iron and some Rosin Core solder..

blehThis high voltage crap worried me.. I felt the LCD case.. and the wires to see if I could feel any current.. get shocked.. etc.. Apparently current is jumping from something to somewhere tho.. if I turn all of the lights off I can't see anything.. I hope I didn't bust the CCFL.. Altho I don't know how I would've.. Any instructions on hwo to get into the CCFL?

I hear a bzzzzz electrical sound when the screen displays in that green lettering or box.. what video setting it's on.. vga.. or c-video etc.. once that dissapear sthe buzzing stops.. I can see the screen with the touch screen overlay off.. I have it sitting in the sunlight.. so the CCFL is obviously not working.. Could it be because i lengthened the wires?
Could someone give me instructions on how to get INTO the actual CCFL?
PM jcdillon. He's been working the LCD brightness upgrade specifically with the inverters in the Lilli screens. He ought to be able to tell you how to get at the CCFL.
On my screen, you had to almost completely disassemble the LCD down to the bare panel to get at the CCFL. I did this only after the screen was dead because I never would have had the guts to do it if it was working.
