Not enough room in the back of head unit (PICS)

I just installed my DWW-700M but can't seem to get the unit to fit all the way into my DIN pocket. It seems that the USB and VGA cable connectors come out too far and hit the back of my dashboard. Here is a few of pictures of what I'm talking about:

The cables are actually hitting a very large A/C vent. The vent is only plastic, but cutting it would effect my A/C efficiency.
Does anybody know if they sell "L" connectors for VGA and USB?

I will probably add some washers and have the unit extend 1/4 inch more out but that still leaves me with about 1/2 inch that I need to get the unit to fit. Here is a pic without the cables connected:

    Any ideas?

I made my own VGA cable. Actually i just cut the plastic away. It does not look good but it works.

I think the USB cable must be Male->Male. This one looks good. but its male->female.

Today I made the disable button LED mod. It works! now my buttons and clock does turn off when the screen is not open.
