    reversing camera question

is there a way to have your screen/monitor (i have a lilliput) switch to AV1 or AV2 when you goto reverse? and then, when you get out of reverse gear and back to 1st gear, it shows your normal screen? (ie the windows desktop)

    ??

hope you guys know what i am talking about

i have something else like that, that i can get from XO Vision on ebay. it has 2 or maybe 3 AV input/output with a different AV input for camera...how am i suppose to have it automatically/remotely switch to the reverse camera if i were to go into reverse?

i've been searching for weeks actually...can find a good DIY or install for this

Search this forum for "cheesebox" or reverese camera switcher etc.

I tried to get ahold of a cheesebox, but ended up buying a similar $50 video switch box onliine (that actually seems somewhat better) and was able to easily wire up an additional relay to trip the switch when the car was put into reverse. It is very straightforward if you have an idea of what is involved.

Drop me a PM if you need anymore specific details, but as of now I highly doubt you searched very hard, as I spent many weeks simply reading all the posts on here about reverse camera switchers etc.

    Goodluck.

EDIT: I should mention that the cheesebox method doesnt require you to switch the inputs on the monitor, it actually takes the two inputs (composite from the camera, and VGA from the computer), and outputs one or the other via VGA to the monitor. You will leave your monitor in VGA mode, and the box will do all the work.

EDIT 2: The box I got is a Startech Video Game Jockey. Here is the first place I found that has it. http://www.buy.com/prod/StarTech_Vid...ml?dcaid=17282

I am sure you can find it cheaper.
