    Lilliput auto - switching Video

    hi,

i know there is auto video shifting by default in the lilli.

Has anyone considered puting a relay that would simulate pushing the input selector button upon shifting reverse in a car?

that might help in shifiting the display from VGA to AV1 when driving reverse...

ps. i am working on the best config. to buy a car pc solution, so as long as i don't have the HW yet, can't try it myself...

    regards.

The Lilliputs have a "secret" menu that gives you options like this - my 701 has the option to invert the image for a backup camera built in.

Laminar, show me a pic of such option.

I have the Lilliput 629 and no where in the hidden screen does it have an option to auto switch source.

I tried the relay idea as though in the first post, but it's unreliable. The reason is because when you back up sometimes you only go into reverse for a couple of seconds and might go back to first gear after such. Well, the signal for the source switch is not so intelligent and has a delay...so you might end up with the rear camera view even though you're out of the reverse gear.

So, what I did was to set the thing manually. I simply soldered to wires to the source button. I then ran these wires to a manual press switch. So, when I want the carpc to go to the reverse camera, I just press the button and vise versa.

I know it's not automatic, but it works and it's more reliable then having a relay.

I'm not 100% sure it exists, I just thought I saw something when I was flipping through the menu a couple days ago. I'll give it another look when I get home.

I think that's is only on the new 701 isn't it?

It's quite possible - I just got my 701 last week.

Here's a picture of the menu screen with the X axis inverted.

    A quick run-through of the options didn't reveal a built-in auto switch.

Yep, no such thing exists. Only the Xenarc has such option.
