    Question Double din VGA monitor

Does anybody know about a 2-din VGA monitor?
    Does it exist?

I would prefer a double din unit rater than an in-dash 1-din TFT, but I am not able to find anything like that.

I don't think it's possible to find such thing... I'm still in the planing stage of my CarPC... I searched a lot for what you're asking for without any luck... the only possible solution I found is to modify (cut and chisel) your car Panel...

    Same like me.
I have seen very nice jobs about that, the problem is it takes the whole doble din space just for the monitor. If the unit we are searching for would exist, it is suppose to have at least radio & stereo amplifier (among other functions), because it will take whole car space.

And you all are searchign for the 'holy grail' of CarPC hardware.
A 7" touchscreen that fits ina double-DIN spot (no dash modifications needed) with an optical drive and AM/FM tuner/pre-amp.

    But it doesn't exist.
If you'd do any looking around, you'd know that this monitor exists, designed for Subaru models. It is double-DIN in size, and could likely fit in any double-DIN opening.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Or do like I did for my indash but the result is very expensive:

Buy a low cost double dash screen (from Hong kong or China or else) and modify it to put your VGA screen.

Thanks for your ideas. It is nice to see I am not the only one searching for a devide like that.

While searching for it I found some more stupid combinations like 1-din in-dash VGATFT + TV.
It seems more logical to have current 1-din in-dash VGA TFTs available on its 2-din equivalent format . Same way like multimedia car devices are available in both formats.

Of course a unit like that should provide some minimal extra functions like radio tuner & stero amplifier because it would eat both din holes.

But I am just wishing, I undestand it does not exist. I have not too much time to spent in modifications, so the only thing I could use is an in-dash unit...
