Okay, screens are mounted, what is the problem now ?

    Hey everyone!

I hope we can solve the problem together.

I just got my car back yesterday, back from mounting a Computer and Screens into it. So I have a Travla C134 computer and three 7" monitors in the cockpit, and 17" lcd screen in the trunk.

Everything works okay, but the problem is when I try to watch DVD's or any other media files, videos, clips etc... The touchscreen and the 17" screens are VGA, the other two are video out. When I try to play the movie, the picture on TS and 17" is good, but on the monitors mounted in the headrests are pictureless. The mouse cursour is to be seen and everything else, but the picture where movie should be is blank.

What might be the problem ? Is it maybe the graphic card is too slow and cannot display the picture ? Or is it something else ?

And one more question. How do I change the resolution on monitor one after the other, cause now I have the resolution on TS set on 800x600 and this resoultion is on all 4 screens. I would like to set the resolution on 17" on 1280.

    Thanks!

More details need to be posted.

How many different VGA outputs do you have on the system?

If you are using TV-out, I think some cards dont allow you to show the video image on that and a vga output at the same time... dunno quite why, but i suppose it is because of royaltees or such (copyright, etc)

Travla C134 ? I assume you use an epia M, and then having a dual output (VGA & CRT) is probably impossible. These boards suck. Your best solution would be a cheap pci card (geforce MX) for VGA, and OnBoard video for tv output, but that travla box is then a problem.

I have 1 VGA ouput converted into two.

Okay, maybe videoout and VGA don't work at the same time. But why is there a picture when everything else is running except DVD's and clips ?

Also, you would need to have 2 different images on the screens in order to have 2 resolutions. I think windows wont allow you to replicate the same desktop at 2 different resolutions, only if you use the "extend desktop" option.

Even then, you would need a dual-heal card for 2 VGA outputs (one 800x600, one 1280)

This would assume you are using something that can drive the 2 screens, which afaik doesnt exist in a single frontend so far... this is a pretty complex project, I suggest running both screens at 800x600 for now, but having a dual-vga output card would be wise if you are going to buy a new card

DVD's and Video are usually limited by the video driver to run on only one output.

everything else isnt... it is something to do with copyrights, but i dont quite understand why

Might also have to do with hardware acceleration too. You could try turning off video acceleration and see if it appears then as it will all be done through software.

Though if it is the problem, not sure how to address it. Haven't done anything with multiple monitors yet. Maybe a vga splitter?

if you just have a "y" adaptar it will work fine. You dont need any fancy tricks to do it.

    @Haystack:

a Y cable will do no trick, once he needs VGA on 2 screens, and regular TV-out video composite signal on the other screens.

A Y cable is also useless when it comes to him having two separate display resolutions.

Maybe using a separate scan converter? Run VGA to each screen and convert the signal to RCA on those screens which need it. Dunno. That's why each of my screens have VGA & RCA.
