In-dash VGA + DVD?

Anyone know if there is an in-dash motorized flip out screen with VGA-in AND is also a DVD player? This would be awesome, but I doubt it exists

OR if there is an indash 1/2 DIN VGA screen? This would be cool too but I doubt this exists either

Looks like we share a project then

If a lilliput or xenarc can be placed into a custom housing that is <= 1" thick, it doesn't seem too difficult off the top of my head. The easiest thing to do would be to get a 1/2 DIN DVD player like the Myron & Davis AD525 and mount a rail system on top of it that the screen would slide on.

The AD525 + 1" thick screen would be ~ 2" tall, allowing for single din mounting.

The best way would be that:

1st : buy this AUTOCAN product:

2nd : Add Touch screen

from DigitalWW

Have to verify dimensions

3rd : Remove DVD player form AUTOCAN product

Hard part.

Need to hack the unit and be sure that the unit will work witout his DVD player.

4th : Replace by Slim Slot-in DVD player + USB adaptator

Slim2IDE adaptator

+
USB2IDE adaptator

The first problem is the AUTOCAN product.

So hard to find.

The manufacturer don't reply mails.

The only reseller found was italian but sell it very too much!! about 1600€

2) u can't fit touchscreen inside the autocan, u don't have enough space.
Or did u find a thin touchscreen?

3-4) Why u want to change the default DVD player?

Because the "default" dvd player does not send out data that could be manipulated by a regular PC. It's probably completely proprietary, so the drive basically only works with that unit.
