So, for months now I've been working on putting the screen in my car. For awhile I worked on a popout model which comes out of the top of the center console. I'm still working on that, and have a working somethingoranother (because it's just.. frankensteinish..), but It's not ready for actual use.

Then, I saw what the manufacturer does for their nav setup. First, I don't understand why they do it this way other than to keep from messing the dash up--Because, you have to completely take your eyes off the road simply to see this thing. It's hard enough to see when daylight hits, muchless having to see it w/o having any view of the road. On top of that, the OEM Nav screen is only the size of 2 RAZR cellphone screens -- no joke.

Luckily my 7" lilly is bigger Glare is still crappy. Anyhow, here's my thread (including pictures of the OEM nav and my proposed placement). It's from my GTO forum. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Pros: Easy to install, minimal if any dash modification, easy to wire and maintain, good overall placement keeps OEM appearances.

Cons: Hard to see (typical), have to look completely away from road, hard to reach on right-side..
