How do you even know it's working and not broken?

Ok, I've been at it for over 5 hours now...
2 computers and 3 differnt sets of drivers later, I'm back where I've started. Search didnt show me much.
Screen: DWW-700H
Problems: One one of the computers simply will freeze durring the installation of the Worcol drivers from DWW, and requires a hardboot. I'm having the same exact problem as this guy: Lilliput TouchKit problem solved! . I've tried his solution, and it doesnt work. eGalax drivers offer no solutions either. When I open up the Touchkit.exe file, nothing is listed in the Panel or Monitor list.
Other computer, also a laptop, will at least let me install the drivers from eGalax and DWW's Worcol set, but also, nothing in either of the lists.
I've tested out the USB ports on both of the laptops with other devices such as card readers, mice, keyboards etc, and they work fine.
The most current eGalax driver I have is 4.0.2.1929. I've got the drivers from both cartft.com, egalax, and DWW, all the same driver though exepct for the DWW.
I hear no "dun-dun" when I plug in the usb cable into the laptops, which makes me wonder...
Anyone have any ideas?

only other thing i could think that may help is load a clean OS then try again. other wise, like they said, broken.

Also, I have tried setting it up on my mac as well. Under 'system profiler' I dont even see it on the USB chain, I see nothing when I plug it in or unplug it.
I also just tested it out on another desktop PC, nothing there either.
