Auto-on in a mysterious way

I don't really know how it happened, but I've somehow got auto-on on my Liliput / newision 829VT

It happened last saturday. I had been using the carputer too long, so the car did not start. The display get power when i turn the key. I had enough power to glow, but not to start, so when i tried to start, the power to the display shut down. I tried several times, also with at battery charger with starter (not powerfull enough for my diesel), and whith another battery and jump start cables. Neither worked, so the power to the display was a lot on/off . The last time i tried, i noticed that the display was auto-on, and it still is.

Can anyone explain how this happened?

I was in a hurry, so I ended up driving the volvo instead, while the benz was recharging. 54ah (optima red top) is to small to use the carputer for some houers without running the engine. A new 100ah gel-battery is ready to be mounted.

It happened to one of mine as well.

That screen now has a problem, don't know it is related, the colours started to go and now I only get the white screen of death. I would advise you replace the Lilliput egg with a better 12V regulator. (if you are usiong the lilliput egg that is)

Hello. The display clearly had some type of "reset", cuz the language was changed to chineese, japaneese or at least something that I was not at all able to read

I am using the 12v regulator that came with the display, but it is not the classical "egg" This one is totally square.
