controller for NEC NL6448BC33-59 10.4" with ELO touch screen

Hi everybody,

I have couple of NEC 10.4" 640x480 LCD with touchscreen as above mentioned. There is no controller with either LCD or TC. Can someone recommend a cheap controller ? My video card has VDI-D output so can I make a customized wire directly from LCD FDP 20pin connector to DVI-D connector ?

the lcd panels you reference have 31 pin connectors, not 20 pin.
btw, those are nice panels. 600:1 contrast, 450 nits bright. decent viewing angle. A little slow on the response time (33ms) but still a good panel for all around use. Too bad they are 640x480 native, but in a car that is perfect w/a 10.4" panel. (IMO)
what model number are the ELO panels?
what inputs do you want on the lcd controller? (vga only, or vga + rca, s-video)

Thanks for the clarification.

The touch screen panel says this "362740-6816 EloTouch systems TF040"
It has 5 wires (4 pink 1 gray)

For LCD I can live with either VGA or DVI input.

Can I by pass the LCD controller if I go for DVI ?

answer to question: No. The lcd panels you have require the use of a controller.

Nah, 800*600 minimum for text on maps etc.

buttons can be designed to be same size under all resolutions etc but better res=better pics/fonts etc

I just tried to go back to 640*480, I cried. (and my tvtuner wasnt happy)

What LCD controller will work with my LCD ?

OK this is getting interesting.

I found a development board that takes the 30pin LCD signals and using Thine 0409TI03 chip converts to LVDS. The board has DFP out. Then a cable takes this DFP out to 30 pin DVI (may be DVI-I). The board also has 12V in and out for inverter.

The problem is how can I connect this 30 Pin DVI (digital + analog) to my pc which has 24 pin DVI-D (digital only) ??

true, but for us blind people, 640 is just fine.
in a perfect world, I would have a 1600x1200 panel in my truck.
