Has anyone else had problems with this? Cause I'm thinking about buying this monitor, as it seems to be the only motorized in dash touchscreen available....
If anyone is looking into buying a Xenarc 700IDT in dash LCD, might I suggest looking else where. I had my LCD working for 20 min before it quit working. Called Xenarc, and sent it off for a warrenty repair. According to the paper they ship back, they said they replaced the monitor control board and ribbon cable. Well I hooked it up directly to a 12v battery and my laptop in the garage, and nothing. Just like it was when I shipped it 2 them. I looked to c if the screws were even takin out of it, but cant tell. I'm wondering if they even worked on it!! I'm sure they did, but who knows now days. I hope they choke on the money they got from me. Grrrrr!! Sry for the rant im just P.O.ed right now.

Seems you need to do a little more searching. Theres about 4 or 5 different indash motorized touchscreen units out there.Originally Posted by greenmazdaman

Actually, the Xenarc 700IDT is NOT MOTORIZED. IT's a spring-loaded mechanism.
To be honest, most users of the Xenarc 700IDT are very happy with them. It's the same unit that I plan to purchase for my setup.
cdcamaro9534 is the only user that I have seen reporting an issue with this specific make/model. If there are other users with problems, we haven't heard about them in these forums.
Yeah its not motorized. But when I got the unit and it quit working, i took the cover off to see if there was any fuses just hoping 4 an easy fix, but there wasnt. But when I took it off it had a screw practicly laying in its screw hole on the board near the back. Upon futher inspection, someone put the wrong size screw in it. It was way 2 short compared to the other screw holding the board down. Right then I started wondering about the quality with the rest of the unit. If that screw would have came out, and layed on that circuit board, im sure it would have wiped out a few things. But I called Xenarc and they said ship it backBut anyway im thinking about ordering a diffrent one from another company just in case this one dont work again. And if it does i can easily sell it too get rid of the head ache. I'm sure there are other ones who are happy. I may just got lucky a drew the bad apple.
Yeah its still on its warrenty. I talked to them, but didnt ask them 2 pay shipping. Didnt even think about it. But its just 20 bucks. I will keep sending it till its fixed. But I think they will get it right this time hopefully. I left a little note in it explaning ive done been thru this.Originally Posted by DarquePervert

Uhhhh. A motor?!?!?!Originally Posted by adill420
Seriously. The motorized ones have a motor that pushes the screen out. The non-motorized ones are either spring-loaded (like the Xenarc) or require you to pull the screen out into position.
well lol yea i understand that but i meant any advantage of one over the other...what would be the pros and cons on each of them over the other..i mean if non-motorized is so widely available..there has to be something people are interested in over motorized..Originally Posted by DarquePervert
