LCD switch to rearview cam automatically

I am deffinetly a newbie here and I have been reading and searching for a few months now and I have finally decided to do it. I have a 2002 VW Bora/Jetta and I got a few questions.

1- I want a rear view camera on my car and I wanna make it in a way that the camera turns on when i put the car in reverses and I want the LCD to switch to the rear view cam automatically. I have read on a few threads that the Xenarc 700TSV has the option of switching to any AV line that comes on and then switching to the last input when I go out of reverse. I like the lili's better since they got a remote control(i donno if its any use or not) and there are also some good LCDs on ebay. anyways, i wanna know if the Lili's or other LCDs can switch to the AV automatically or if its just this one Xenarc.

2- I want a good computer in my car and hince I dont think the Opus or any other 12-12 could do it for me so I am going to go for an inverter, maybe 300W. I wanna know if the inverter is going to have noise and if when starting the car I would still need to be worried about computer shutdowns/restarts. Also could I just connect the LCD to the inverter or is it better to connect it to the 12V line off the computer's power.

3- I dont really like my AC controls and I want to somehow integrate it into the computer. I have had some thoughts and I know a bit of programing and computer electronics and I was wondering if anyone has done this. I am thinking of getting a few tempreture sensors and connecting the to the comp through USB/... port and then doing some programing to control the fan and other equipment via the comp outputs.

I know it was a bit too long for the first post. I just had to ask and get it off my mind. thanx

    First off...
I'm only posting on this under the assumption that a mod is going to move it to an appropriate forum.

I believe all the Xenarc models will auto-swtich to a reverse camera (or other A/V input). I may be worng about this, but it's something you want to ask about before you purchase any screen.

Well, nobody knows what the specs of your system, so we couldn't begin to tell you whether there's a DC-DC power supply that will work with your system. There are units that can handle from 90w all the way to 250w. Some even include other features like a shutdown controller and battery saver.
However, for using an inverter, it's generally a good idea to get one that's rated at 1.5 to 2 times the rating of your PCs power supply so that it can supply power on demand if the PC needs it (like reading from a DVD or runnign a 3D visualization).

There's been much discussion about that very topic on these forums. I'd suggest searching the forums to find relevenat threads. You should be able to get the information you're looking for.
Basically, you need hardware to control the HVAC system and it's easier to integrate with controls that are already digital. If you've got a mechanical setup, it's a lot more involved, if not impossible.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
