kenwood ddx7017 as the display for my carpc??

I have been sitting on installing a carpc for a while -

my wife just bought me a ddx7017 (kenwood, double din, dvd player)

What do you guys think about keeping this headunit, and then installing a car pc and plugging it in, via the audio/video inputs of my headunit

the head unit is a touch screen, but i assume there would be no way to interface this with the carpc

whats your thoughts on this? would it be a descent display??

    TIA,

    Boyd98

You need to get to the FAQ Emporium and do some reading. This topic has been covered countless times.

The resolution of that screen (as well as any other screen that's designed for TV or DVD or video game input) has a far lower resolution than even the lowerst-end PC. As a result the display will not be ideal.

Some people have tweaked setting to get a marginally OK display, but no better than OK. Most likely, it will look like ****.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
