    7" Daylight readable Touchscreen

I'm new to the forum, but have been around Car PC's for a long time now. I've been trying to find a reasonablly priced daylight readable 7" LCD w/ touchscreen.
I just got a message back from a company I've seen mentioned on this forum before. I never saw anyone continue past the "I've contacted this company..."

    Well... Here's their response. (CIDisplays.com)
Let me know what people's interest would be?

After discussing with our Taiwan engineer, we should will be able to do enhancement on both the LCD and the touch screen to make it transflective and outdoor readable.

The spec will be similar to the attached. As you can see, the LCD module resolution is only 800 x 480 which is standard for 7", 16 x 9 aspect ratio LCD module. The touch screen resolution will be 800 x 600 or better.

The only uncertainty that we have right now is if after the enhancement, will we be able to put it back into this plastic enclosure. If not, we will provide an open frame kit for your client for their own installation.

Following is what we can do price-wise:

p/n: (undecided yet, temporary only) MTA070-PCT-enhanced

description: 7" outdoor readable semi-transflective LCD and touch screen Car monitor, input: composite video and VGA.

    QTY:1 Price: 699.00/ Unit
    QTY: 250: price 635.00/ Unit
    QtY: 500 : Price 615.00/Unit
    Qty: 1000 Price: $585.00 / unit
    Qty: 2100 Price: $550 / unit

It's for a complete screen. They have a base model screen they'd start with and do the enhancements, you wouldn't be supplying any hardware for them... just $$$
