Transflective Screens

We are currently in the process of signing up to supply 8", 10" and 12" transflective raw NEC panels and touchscreen overlays for the marine industry and would like to ask if any one on this forum, that I have been part of for a while, have any comment on these. I am also importing In-Sight Sunlight Readable industrial monitors in sizes 12" to 21" with and without touchscreen.

The panel you reference is nothing new, if that is what you are getting at. In fact, the data sheet I have for that panel is 3 years old.
Nice panel though, and if the price were right, I would be interested in several (read hundreds)

Have you seen the panel working in daylight, I am still waiting for a demo to arrive, price should be right though, sub AUS600 for 8.4.

Yes, I have seen these panels in daylight. I have sold them with and w/o touch. They are nice, and some people want 1024x768 in an 8.4" Personally, 800x600 is plenty in an 8.4" panel. 1024 gets tiny for text in a panel that small.

Thanks for the reply, 450US was for a single unit, I have still to negotiate quantities as I will have the touchscreen bonded to the screen to reduce glare further when I buy over 100 units in one order.

I am more interested in the 12" as we primarily supply for flybridge yachts for chartplotting and radar, but I will replace the 8" lilliput in my 4runner with the NEC when it arrives.

are you getting a turn key setup for 450.00, or just the lcd panel?

panel and inverter, clarification coming next week from distributor, touchscreen and controller seperate.

I am having our own cases made up or installed into clients own boats.

Yes, plus controller. However, I am considering utilising the lvds out of the MS10000 board and producing tablet style PC's
