enter "vikuiti" in the search text box.

    buy 5x12" for $79.

it's been tested on tablet pcs already and works like a charm. but it needs to be replaced from time to time. putting another protection sheet on top of it may cause reflection again.
I thought this film has to go behind the screen on the back of the lcd? In between the lightguide/diffusers and the lcd? Can you also put it on the front of the screen? Does it work any less effectively there?

3m markets many different vikuiti products.... the inner ones that are used in actual lcd assembly isn't available to the general public from what I've seen, there marketed twards the oem's... which is why I can't just buy a sheet of the Vikuiti Dual Brightness Enhancement Film (DBEF).....

as far as I've seen, the only vikuiti products available to the general public are the outer overlays.....

that's why I posted here, if daveB can actually have someone in 3m sell some of this I would want it....

No, it has to be put in front. It's made for tablet pcs and is non-permanent (see why they sell a pack of 5?). There is no point in using an AR film and then covering it with another layer that would then reflect light before it reaches the film itself.

Ah I see. I'm not interested in that variant of the Vikuiti film. I want the stuff that goes behind the lcd.

Totally agree. Never seen anyone on the forum using the AR outer film, however. This is why I posted this. It does work, I've seen it on a tablet pc and it does make a big difference even in bright day light.

The dbef is of course a better/more difficult approach.

Anyone know which would be better:
    1. Vikuiti on back of LCD + vikuiti on front of lcd, back of TS & front of TS
    or:
    2. Vikuiti on back of LCD + HEA AR film on the 3 front surfaces instead?

I would be interested for 100 if the effect was dramatic enough. Or lesser price for a lesser effect.

and oh, yes i would be interested if the whole kit (polarizer films + brightness enhancing) is for 100. coz brighness enhancing behind the TS on its own is not enough.

$100 sounds good to me. A lot easier than futzing around with a backlight upgrade!
