!!!! Lilliput LCD Problems Please help !!!!

Hey... I am new to MP3.com but have been browsing the pages for months.

    So heres the deal:

I bought a Lilliput 7" touchscreen (under the knock off name "super") a few months back. Had a beautiful install all working wonderfully....then...maybe 2 months after I had the screen the damn thing dies.

So I open it up ... I found that the backlight inverter blew. So I replaced it with a third party inverter. Re-installed it ... worked for a day or two and then the LCD controller went. Ive been frustrated with it ever since.

I have dismantled the entire screen now and this is how it stands: I removed the touchscreen controller, I removed the inverter transformer and a few other parts related (i.e. the backlight plug).

When a +12v is inputed, the red LED, that should light signifying power present, ficks on for a moment and goes dark. I tested around and found that there is current here and there. The power button does nothing and the button panel (that should have +5v going to it) has maybe +3.3v. I thought at first it was a capacitor but I tested them all and they all are okay. The only problem I can find is that one of the voltage regultors (U2, the second small one under the card's model number) gets EXTREMELY hot within moments of the +12v connection.

I would love to get this board working so that I dont end up blowing the $150 bucks I spent on this POS.

The board's model number is : CX RV1009C

PLEASE if anyone has ANY ideas please let me know.

    -Luke

P.S. Thanks sooo much for just taking the time to read all this.

Is the power source to your screen regulated? That could be what is causing the problems in the first place.

It also sounds like you may have to replace the controller card. I think there is a fuse on the board that you should check. There are a couple of threads around here with pics of where that fuse is on the board.

It probably doesn't make you feel any better, but I spent $500 on a screen solution that I ended up having to replace with a $400 Xenarc. The price of progres...
