    connecting LCD to PC - Help

    I am new to all this, and electronics, but I have just recieved an LCD display (20x4) from Data International. I don't know how to connect it to the PC. It will either go into the serial or parallel port.

    Do I need any other equipment?

    What is a controller and what does it look like?

    What cables would I need to hook it to the PC?

    Where can I get them from?


    Any help would be very appreciated.
