Taken the dash out again today, first impressions are that it will fit with little modification to the console.

I made up a paper template the exact size of the LCD and test fitted it to the dash. Seems all i have to do is cut out some very small ribs at the bottom of the double din opening to allow the screen to fit flush against the console. A five minute job.

All i have to work out now is how to mount the PCB of the LCD behind the screen.

Sama if your reading this, do you recon there is enough lead length on the LCD to allow the PCB to lay 90 deg to the LCD ?

OH YEA!, time to save some cash for the screen.

plenty of length on the ribbons, but you may have to extend the backlight power cables, or maybe not if the center of rotation is around the backlight cables.

thats the one. I'v seen box pictures of the:
    http://linitx.com/product_info.php?c...roducts_id=877

same remote as the provision, same specs, same driver CD. It looks like the provision has the buttons at the bottom while the LinTX is at the side. I'm quite positive they are from the same manufacturer.

I found the provision at a much cheaper price. for about $200usd.

Sama, Thanks for the info, im sure i could lengthen the backlight power cables, but the ribbons could be a little tricky. I will have to see when i get it. Still, im waiting for the funds to materialize now.

I'm sure if you focused eveything on the ribbon cable, then the USB and power cables will be easy to extend. just make sure you heatshrink the power extensions 2-3 times. there's a hell of a lot of voltage through those wires. I barely touched the insulated wire when the screen was on and I could feel the electricity. might have something to do that I'm an X-Man (my imagination) but might not be

you should never splice HV CCFL wires

and thw wire hould be rated at about 3kV with silicone insulation.
