    Haven't seen this display discussed...

    Hi, all-
Thinking about putting together a system and one big decision is screen. I haven't seen any discussion about this model here (yes, I searched first!)

    Here it is:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

Looks like it has an AV-4u badge(?) on it.

Anyone see any "gotchas" with that? I am looking for a 7' (or maybe 8") with a touchscreen.

    Maybe a customs fee?

    Thanks,
    Mark

You'll be importing it directly from Hong Kong. Expect shipping to be pricey. There could also be customs fees or import duties. I don't know, buecause I've never bought from an Ebay seller in HongKong.
If it goes bad and you need to ship it back for any reason, expect a hassle and even more shipping/customs charges.

As an aside, these Ebay sellers need to do some better photoshop work...
The first picture looks like she's pointing to an icon and a big-screen TV!!!!!
And one of the ones further down, despite being not-quite-as-far-out-of-scale, has the touchscreen out of calibration!

    Thanks for the reply.

I've seen several people here who have had stuff shipped from Hong Kong without incident, although I must admit that could be an issue. For example, I've read posts from folks who have bought from Yuki668 (Audio Image Electronics) and received their items quickly... with no customs duties, but this is specifically addressed in Yuki's ads (guaranteed no customs, FWIW). This seller has no such guarantee. And the shipping is >$40, but that still has the total price just over $210.

Anyway, I was mostly wondering if the item was any good compared to the standard Lilli, etc.

Some say the size of your fingers are relative to the size of your pen0r, so going by the fact that asians have small pen0rs, small hands may not be out of the quesiton.

Okay, sorry about that.. It seems really similar to on that mp3car sells, maybe its rebadged, i'm interested in this too.

I bought an EX-Audio or some crap from ebay.

I guess its good. but man, their assembly was more sub than subpar. ultra crap assembly. i mean on the whole its alright but the connectors and cables were all loose and ****. im still stuck trying to figure out how i am gonna replace the broken clip of the 40 pin FFC ribbon cable. the ribbon cable wont sit with a broken clip (keeps sliding out). the touchscreen connectotr was loose and crappy and i had to cut that open and solder my own 4 wire extension to it. peice of ****.
as soon as i figure out what i will do to solve the ribbon calbe problem ( i cant find replacements for the life of me) then i guess its good. but if i were you, and could spaire the extra hundred bucks for a reliable source, screw ebay crap. get it from mp3car store or something.
i regret that i bought from ebay. i was gonna send this thing back to hong kong but i had opened it to fix the touch screen and i wasnt gonna spend 40 bucks risking them saying "ohh so sowy, u open scween, u woid wawanty" and charging me another 50 bucks so they ship the broken thing back to me.

It's OK to say "penis". Really.
We might question your sexual orientation if you say it frequently, so bear that in mind.
