Anyone?
Hi all!
I'm getting ready to set up a carputer and I really like the Xenarc 700IDT.
I don't need a motorized one and I like the fact that this can move from side to side.
Does anyone any reviews or opinions on this unit as to how well it performs, how readable is it, etc...
Thanks for any info!
Anyone?
I have one and it's on its way back to Xenarc for repair. Should you choose to buy one of these, you should be aware that constant opening and lcosing it with it's full spring rate will damage the ribbon cable. Be careful with it. I beleive this is what caused my issue with it. The damn thing starts up and shows the XP splash screen and then powers off and there's no way to get it back on. Hell the computer doesn't even see it as an external monitor anymore, but it worked fine for about 4-5 months before I started having issues with it.
Anybody else have success/failure with this screen. I was also considering it. I figured there was less to go wrong with it since it wasn't motorized.
ive got one..
The cable in the back doesnt fit very snugly, but theres little metal "handlebars" (have NO idea what theyre for).. and ziptieing the cord to those to secure it fixed that problem..
However, just yesterday my screen went out.. and i believe it is the ribbon..
I get no picture, and my computer doesnt recognize it anymore...
when i push the power button on the screen.. it flickers.. but thats all.. no display..
even if i push the button that changes the input (PC, Aux 1, Aux 2) the little title (PC, Aux 1..) doesnt even show up anymore..
And then after about 10 sec.. it just turns off..
i just contacted the company i bought it from to get instructions on how to send it back..
im disappointed.. but i really have no other option as i dont have a location for a permanantly mounted screen..
nevermind..
apparently when the backlight is turned down too low it shuts down...
Xenarc replied back with a suggestion on how to reset the backlight setting, went out and tried that and it fixed the problem.. phew!
Note to self: Dont touch backlight setting..
