Powering Lilliput, FAQ not clear to me

ok, I've been running my 7" lilliput in my car via a power inverter and the standard ac power brick. I'm almost ready to move to powering it permanently. There's a "dongle" that has the vga, rca and sound input along with another input that I think is the DC input. If I use a radio shack barrell plug, does it matter if I use the dc input or the ac input that goes right into the side? I don't want to fry my lilli, but is there really a difference between the two inputs?

Run it off the 12 volt rail in your PSU. USe the barrel plug and splice that into a molex connector. Yellow is 12v+ the black adjacent to it is 12v-. On the barrel plug the outside shielding is 12v- and the inside pin is 12v+. Cut the barrel connector with at least couple inches of wire so you can figure out (with a multimeter) which wire goes to which contact.

BTW there are tons of threads about powering you lilliput. Some even have pictures.

To answer you questions it DOES matter weather you putting DC or AC. the device's input is 12v DC. If you put 120v AC you would fry everything. the plug that plugs in the wall (big brick steps the voltage down from 120 to 12) and you need regulated power (thats why you run it off your power supply or the egg that plugs in your cig lighter)
