New Xenarc 700TSV in Sunlight Q

I just received my new 700TSV and in ANY sunlight it gets so dark that I can barely even see the screen. Is this normal?

Xenarc tells me that it should be sunlight readable, and I know other people that have the screen mounted in the same place (top of the dash in an RX8) that don't seem to be having any problems.

My last Xenarc seemed to be much brighter and that one is 2 years old now.

    Thanks
